Return to Question of the Week Highlights If you have stayed at Disney's Saratoga Springs resort in the past, how have you enjoyed your stay(s) there? What are the strengths of this resort compared to the other DVC resorts? What about this resort do you think can be improved? Have you used the spa services at Saratoga Springs and do you think a spa is a good addition to a DVC property? Answers posted to the list: We hope to head to SSR for Thanksgiving. We've stayed there twice so far and really thought it was very nice. I like the community feel like OKW. We're thinking about staying in the Carousel or Grandstand section this time. We've been in the Congress Park area both times before. We like the spa and have used the services there a couple of times. Even when we were over at OKW we used the SSR Spa. Deborah ----- We stayed at SSR in March 2006 and enjoyed it very much. We were in the Congress Park section which was perfect. The best feature for us was the proximity to Downtown Disney. It was a five minute walk to the Marketplace. It was ideal for our dining reservations at other resorts - we cold just walk to the bus stop and catch a bus to the resort we needed to go to rather than hoping a bus to a park then transferring to another bus to our final destination and reversing it for the way back - a major time saver with an infant involved! The walk back to the main pool and check-in area was not bad at all either. The room had a wonderful view of DTD. Our only complaint was that there were not more food choices at the resort itself, though we could just walk to DTD and have a wide variety of food options. Our first choice will always be OKW for the room size, but would not mind staying at SSR again if that was the only thing available when we wanted to go. Desiree ----- We stayed in 2 studios in Congress Park last summer. I enjoyed the view of DTD and the easy walk. However, I didn't like the music at night - couldn't sit on the patio and relax. Next time I'll take one of the areas facing the small lake in the middle. I was amazed at how quickly the DTD sounds disappeared once you got away from Congress Park. And I like the more tranquil view of the small lake and fountain. Paul ----- We have stayed at Saratoga Springs on 3 occasions, 2 in Congress Park and One in The Paddock. The location near Downtown Disney is Great. Love walking to Downtown in the evening and back no waiting for a bus! The decor is nice, love the food service, fresh made fast food and unique offerings. My only dislike is the pull out sofa in the studios. Dennis ----- We stayed in the Springs because we wanted to be close to the main pool and the restaurant. The landscaping makes morning walks very enjoyable. We love the openness. You don't feel like you are on top of everything. The restaurant was OK at lunch, but we are looking forward to going back and having a real sit-down meal. This is the only negative about SSR to us. Our teenager (DS 14) loved the pool. The spa is wonderful. I had my first shiatsu (sp) massage. It was very enjoyable and relaxing. We will definitely stay again.
