If you have stayed at the Beach Club Villas in the past, how have you enjoyed your stay(s) there? What are the strengths of this resort compared to the other DVC resorts? What about this resort do you think can be improved?

This is one of our home resorts (also own at SSR) and the only DVC resort we have stayed at so far. While we have no comparison, we have stayed at other WDW resorts. BCV, I would say is one of the best, if not the tops. The location is tremedous. You are a 5 minute walk to EPCOT, 10 minute boat ride to MGM and 20 minute bus ride to AK and MK. The location by far sets this resort out. As for other amenities, the food choices here are great...Yachtsman, Cape May, Beaches and Cream. There is a little for everyone plus the short walk/bus to the boardwalk makes it an ideal spot. But what really sets this resort apart is SAB. By far the best pool in all of WDW, my opinion. SAB is just fantastic. With this pool you don't need anything else.

The only thing I do not like and this is a recent change is that Beaches and Cream does not allow take out service anymore. We loved hitting the pool and taking a quick burger and fries up to our room. With the seating capacity being what it is there, they should really bring the take out back.

We have stayed at BCV 3 times - being that it is our home resort - and we like it very much. It can get crowded in the lobby sometimes due to Cape May being just off the lobby - but it is bearable. My 7 yo dd loves the "kids movie" area just at the back of the lobby.

The strengths I think is that it really isn't much of a walk from the DVC units to anywhere else in the resort. One year we were right at one of the pools which made it really nice with a 5 year old. Stormalong Bay is great but you can lose track of little ones easily. DD loves the slide. I like the "smallness" of the resort in a whole - I didn't like SSR because it was so spread out. I also like the close proximity to the Boardwalk and its restaurants and to Epcot.

I can't really think of anything that I would say could be improved (except maybe the wait at Beaches and Cream, haha) - we have always had a great experience there - CM's have always been friendly (which we did not find to be the case at SSR this past Christmas - no "welcome home" when we arrived - seemed most of them were pretty grumpy - and an issue with our 43' motorcoach in the drive when we were trying to check in). I like the friendliness of the resort and only have SSR to compare it to - which upon that comparison - BCV far outweighs SSR in my opinion.

Beach Club Villas is our home resort. We stay there most of our trips. We have stayed in studios, 1 and 2 bdrm units (both dedicated and lock off).

We love Stormalong Bay, the atmosphere at the Beach Club, and the proximity to Epcot. We also love the feel of being a part of a hotel with the services and amenities of a deluxe resort. The Marketplace has a good variety of items for those staying in the Villas or the hotel, including "extras" like gelato. :-)

The downside to BCV is that the rooms do have poor views and are not maintained as well as I would like (because it is small and popular, it tends to show quite a bit of wear). I also think the Cape May cafe could be vastly improved food wise.

That being said, give me a night at BCV any day over the other resorts. (We have stayed at all the DVC resorts except HH). We are going down for a quick trip in a couple of weeks (booked just a couple of weeks ago). I had
some use-them or lose-them points left for this year and we are staying in a studio at OKW, because BCV was booked.

We have stayed one time at BCV in a 1BR. We really enjoyed that resort! It was great to be on the Boardwalk. When our littlest went to bed, I took our older child to the Boardwalk to walk around and enjoy the night there. It
was also great to be the first resort outside the Epcot gate. It was so easy to get into Epcot. Being close to MGM and getting to choose how to get to MK was a plus. My favorite is VWL (so far but we haven't stayed at all
DVC resorts yet). This is a close 2nd though. I also convinced my sister to stay in the regular rooms at BC on one of their trips and they are "only stay at Polynesian" people and loved it. They are staying at BC next trip in May.
